Notice to Members:
NOMINATION AND ELECTION PROCESS
South Texas Federal Credit Union will hold its Annual Meeting at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at our McAllen Branch. The Nominating Committee, appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, has nominated one member for each Board position to be filled. As a result, there will be no nominations from the floor and the election will not be conducted by ballot.

Barbara Johnson retired from McAllen ISD after 35 years of dedicated service as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher. Throughout her career, she played an active role in education beyond the classroom, serving on numerous campus, district, regional, and state committees, where she held various leadership positions. In recognition of her excellence in teaching, she was honored as Garza Elementary, McAllen ISD, and Region One Teacher of the Year in 1995.
Beyond her teaching career, Ms. Johnson remained engaged in the education community. She served as Treasurer for the Palm Valley Association of Retired School Personnel while simultaneously chairing the Technology Committee. Additionally, she contributed as a member of both the Retirement and Scholarship Committees.
A dedicated member of South Texas Federal Credit Union since 1977, Ms. Johnson joined the Board of Directors in 2013. She currently serves as Vice Chairman, continuing her commitment to leadership and service in support of the credit union and its members.

Irma Ballesteros is a dedicated financial institution with
25 years of experience in backroom operations. Throughout her career and retirement, she has remained deeply engaged in community service and volunteerism. She was an active member of the McAllen High School Band Booster Club, where she served as treasurer for three years, and a member of the McAllen Town Band for twelve years, also holding the treasurer position for three years.
Irma has contributed to charitable efforts as an officer of
the Ladies of Harley, playing a key role in the organization’s annual Christmas Toy Drive. Her commitment to youth development was evident in her service as a T-Ball coach for the McAllen Boys and Girls Club.
Currently, Irma volunteers with the City of McAllen Elections as an assistant judge, ensuring fair and organized electoral processes. She is also a proud member of South Texas Credit Union, reflecting her lifelong dedication to financial institutions and community involvement.
