Proof of Insurance
Have you received a letter requesting proof of insurance?
If you have a vehicle loan with South Texas FCU, we may need an updated Insurance Binder, also known as an Insurance Declaration Page, to verify that your vehicle is properly insured. Your Insurance Binder/Declaration Page is a document provided by your insurance company that shows your current coverage and vehicle information.
Before submitting your insurance information, make sure your Insurance Binder/Declaration Page includes:
- Comprehensive and collision coverage
- The collateral/vehicle that matches the vehicle listed in the letter you received
- South Texas Federal Credit Union listed as the correct lienholder
- The named insured, including an indication if the named insured is different from the borrower on the loan
Important: Your insurance policy must meet the requirements outlined in your loan agreement. If any of the information above is missing or incorrect, your insurance may not be accepted.
You can conveniently update your insurance information online through WeHaveInsurance.com.
- Visit www.WeHaveInsurance.com
- Enter the Reference ID found on the top right corner of the letter you received.
- Enter the ZIP Code where the notification letter was addressed and select Submit.
- Follow the instructions to provide your insurance information.
An Insurance Binder/Declaration Page is NOT the same as your insurance card.
We need your Insurance Binder/Declaration Page, which is a document provided by your insurance company that shows your coverage, vehicle information, lienholder, and named insured.
Please do not submit your insurance card. We need the Insurance Binder/Declaration Page. If you are unsure where to find this document, contact your insurance company and request your current Insurance Declaration Page for the vehicle securing your South Texas FCU loan.
