Supporting Our Community by Partnering with Non-Profit Emily’s Meals
At South Texas Federal Credit Union, giving back to our community isn’t just something we do… it’s part of who we are. We’re proud to announce a meaningful new partnership with Emily’s Meals, a local organization dedicated to providing food to individuals in need throughout our community.
Emily’s Meals operates three free street pantries across McAllen, offering accessible food support to those experiencing hardship. These pantries serve as a vital resource for many, and they rely heavily on consistent community contributions to remain stocked and available.
Our Commitment
Over the next three months—April, May, and June—we will be working alongside Emily’s Meals to help keep these pantries filled. Through this initiative, we aim to make a direct and lasting impact by ensuring that no one in our community goes without access to basic nourishment.
Food Supply Drive at Our Branches
To support this effort, we are hosting a food supply drive at both of our branch locations. Members and community supporters are encouraged to stop by and drop off donations during regular business hours. Convenient collection areas will be available to make giving easy and accessible for everyone.
How You Can Help
We’re inviting our members, employees, and the community to join us in supporting this effort by donating non-perishable food and essential items. Suggested donations include:
- Canned meats (easy-open: tuna, chicken, spam)
- Canned vegetables and fruits (easy-open)
- Beans (dry or canned, easy-open preferred)
- Rice and pasta
These simple items can make a significant difference for someone facing food insecurity.
